INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY NEWS: LinkedIn Tip of the Week, Interview with APU's Dean of Security and Global Studies, + More

LINKEDIN TIP OF THE WEEK: Based on frequent requests on advice for optimizing LinkedIn for national security professionals, I am going to start giving weekly pointers. Some of them may be obvious to you and others less obvious, but many will be included in our forthcoming book, "Hacking the Job Search" The tip for this week is: if you have a clearance or are seeking a clearance, make sure that your LinkedIn profile parallels some of the data from your SF86. As the investigators go through the process of reviewing your application, it will serve you well to make it easy on them to verify contacts you have in your professional network online.

TIC INTERVIEW WITH APU: Kurt Marisa, President of the Foreign Area Officer Association and also Director for Business Development for The Intelligence Community LLC interviewed Richard Pera, Dean of the School of Security and Global Studies for American Public University. The two discussed programs of interest to job seekers and those making career transitions. Check it out on the home page of www.TheIntelligenceCommunity.com You can also contact Kurt at Kurt@theintellcomm.com to discuss the benefits of becoming a sponsor of TIC. Our current Sponsors are listed at the bottom of this message.
